Meet Podiatrist Jake Bowler!
Jake graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor Degree of Podiatry. He enjoys all aspects of podiatry, with a special interest in helping athletes return to sports. He has experience in many aspects of Podiatry including exercise rehabilitation, biomechanics, nail surgery, routine nail and skin care.
After dealing with a large number of footy injuries over the years, Jake has a large interest with sporting injuries involving the lower leg, ankle and foot. Certainly, a passion with sports and assisting his injured clients stems from a few injuries he has experienced himself. He believes that regardless of your injury though, it is possible to remain active during your recovery. Jake will set specific goals with each individual for both the short and long term, to ensure you keep active, positive and accountable through the recovery process!
Jake is particularly interested in and enjoys working with Medial Tibial Stress Syndromes (shin splints), Achilles tendinopathies and Plantar Fasciopathies (Heel Pain). With any sporting injury, there is a root cause, and Jake will ensure to find the underlying reason for these injuries so that you can work together towards being pain-free.
Jake has a firm belief in preventative management and will work with you to decrease the chances of injury and pain coming back in the future. Another essential way to deal with pain is to consider long term function as much as short term pain management. With this in mind, Jake will work towards building a strong base of strength and control so that pain not only goes away but stays away for the long term!
In his free time, Jake continues to play football (AFL) regardless of all his previous injuries, playing the guitar and going to the gym. He enjoys quality time with friends and family and is always ready for a laugh!
